In the field of multiple sclerosis and ALS we have a long standing collaboration with partners at Haukeland University hospital and NeuroSysMed for partnerships in clinical studies and access to the national MS Registry. Further, our work on immunology is done in tight collaboration with ass.prof. Andreas Lossius at the Neuroimmunology group at UiO.
We have focused on building regional, national and international networks between clinicians, researchers and academic centres with complimentary capacities. In our work with cognitive impairment we have followed a two-pronged strategy, with major lines of research being published in academic journals, but main biomarker findings have been filed as DOFIs (to Inven2) for later patenting. So far, patents have been licensed and commercialized by a collaborating biotech start-up firm, Pre Diagnostic.
Our project MultiHead is evaluating the effect of headache treatment in a multidisciplinary team on headache burden and work participation. This collaboration with the Norwegian Labour and welfare administration (NAV) aim to find strategies to improve work participation among patients with chronic headache.
I all fields we have extensive collaborations with numerous other Norwegian University hospitals and several major European Universities (See list).
